Companies Address AI Too Late. Employees Have Long Been Using It | Michal Černý
Artificial intelligence doesn't appear in companies only through strategy or management decisions. In many cases it's already there — just unofficially.
AI ve firmách už běží. Problém je, že často bez kontroly
Artificial intelligence doesn't appear in companies only through strategy or management decisions. In many cases it's already there — just unofficially.
While management debates when and how to implement AI, employees bring it into work themselves. They use it for everyday tasks, to speed up work, or to find answers. Often, however, this happens without clear rules and without the company having an overview of how and where AI is actually being used.
We covered this topic in the new episode of CZECH CYBER TV Podcastu with Michalem Černým.
AI „bokem“: rychlost vs. kontrola
One of the main problems is the difference in pace. Technology evolves extremely quickly, while companies often react slowly — typically waiting for budgets, internal approvals, or long-term planning.
Meanwhile, employees look for their own ways. If the company doesn't provide tools, they'll take them themselves. And this is precisely where the fundamental risk arises.
It's not about any sophisticated attacks. A common situation is enough — an employee uploads a spreadsheet, document, or internal data into an AI tool to make their work easier. The company often doesn't know about it at all.
Bezpečnost jako vedlejší efekt
Another layer of the problem shows up with the so-called „vibe codingu“ — that is, developing applications using AI tools. This enables quickly creating functional products, but often without a deeper understanding of architecture and security.
The result is applications that do work but may contain significant vulnerabilities. Combined with pressure for speed and the availability of tools, this creates an environment where security often becomes secondary.
Největší chyba? Čekání
One thing clearly emerges from the interview: the biggest risk today is not AI itself, but inaction.
Companies that wait for the "right moment" can very quickly lose their edge. Not only technologically, but also in processes — because the reality inside the organization has already changed in the meantime.
Kde začít
The good news is that entering the world of AI today is not complicated. The crucial factor is not the technology itself, but the approach.
Companies should:
- understand how employees are already using AI today
- set basic rules and a security framework
- give people the tools so they don't have to look for their own solutions
Without that, AI will continue to exist in the company — just without control.
